10 Minute Encounter is a video installation played across 9 CRT televisions. Each television displays a different 10 minute video which features a pair of hands clapping, culminating in a deafening and distorted applause. The audience progress through a cycle of emotions; the initial excitement of being applauded becomes an awkward embarrassment, prompting growing unease. The added pressure of viewing the piece as part of a group causes individuals to stay despite their discomfort.
