The Washing Machine is Working is a participatory performance which focuses on the familiar routine of washing laundry. The piece personifies the mechanics of the washing machine by substituting the inner machinery with a performer, who simulates the washing process. It invites the audience into a simultaneously amusing and uncomfortable encounter that requires them to be present and to directly interact with the entire experience, intensifying and therefore enchanting this minor element of our everyday lives.
